HOWTO: Have Multiple Users Share an iTunes Library on One Machine

iTunes on a regular basis using our own individual Apple ID accounts, and there isn’t an easy way to share our music seamlessly with one another. We have similar tastes in music and we’d like it so that when one person buys a new song, it is immediately available for the other person to listen to. Ideally, we’d also be able to create our own unique playlists and assign ratings to the various songs to reflect our own personal likes/dislikes. This article lays out the details of how I accomplished that goal…Posted by Aaron Schaefer

Ex-BPO man planned kidnapping, wanted money for Dubai trip: cops

After arresting three youths in connection with the kidnapping and murder of 16-year-old Adnan Patrawala, the police are now looking for two more persons—Rajan and Lalla, who they say were in the car when the teenager was abducted. “Rajan was the one who strangled Adnan with a belt after he was kidnapped by the other accused,” said a senior police official.

Investigators also said former BPO employee Sujit Nair (28)—one of the three youths arrested and charged with Adnan’s murder and kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy—masterminded the whole thing because he was unemployed and in desperate need of money to go to Dubai.
The police did not reveal too many details about Rajan and Lalla, but are questioning Nair, Ayush Bhatt and a 17-year-old boy. “We have arrested three persons and two others are still absconding. We would not like to disclose any details about the absconding accused,” said Dilip Patil, Police Inspector (Crime), Oshiwara police station.
The body of Adnan—son of a businessman from Andheri (West)—was found among bushes in Navi Mumbai on Monday, a day after he was kidnapped. The police said Adnan had gone out for dinner with his sister on Saturday evening when Ayush called him and asked if he could meet him at InOrbit Mall in Malad. Adnan agreed. At Malad, Nair, the 17-year-old boy, Rajan and Lalla were waiting with Ayush when Adnan drove up in his Skoda around 11 pm.
Kiran Sonone, Senior Police Inspector of Oshiwara police station, said Nair told interrogators that he got into the driver’s seat at Malad and the group went for a drive on the Thane-Ghodbunder Road. “Early in the morning, they dropped off Ayush at his Kandivli residence. Immediately afterwards, they pounced on Adnan and tied his hands and legs,” said another police officer. It was Sunday, 4.30 am.
While Ayush went to his house, changed and left home again, telling his parents he was going for a party, Nair and the others went to Andheri. Ayush met them there. The group then drove to Navi Mumbai. On the way, they called Adnan’s family and demanded Rs 2 crore as ransom.
Sonone said Adnan’s captors made him drink a bottle of beer after spiking the drink with sleeping pills. “Later, someone called Nair and informed him that the news about the kidnapping had been flashed on TV. And the police were after them,” said another officer. “The accused panicked and killed Adnan,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Western Region) Archana Tyagi yesterday.
The accused then dumped the body in Nerul, abandoned the car nearby and returned to their homes. The police have got the preliminary post-mortem report and the cause of Adnan’s death has been mentioned as strangulation.
Ruling out the possibility of any woman’s involvement in the incident, zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police V K Chaube said: “Adnan might have been in contact with some girl, but no involvement of any girl has come up during our investigations. All the talk about someone called Angel in the case is bogus.”
MUMBAI: During interrogation on Monday night and Tuesday morning, Sujit Nair told the police that his mother, who is a nurse and lives in Kerala, had recently returned from Dubai. “Nair told us that he wanted to go to Dubai and needed money. He was the one who plotted the kidnapping and involved the other boys,” Kiran Sonone, Senior Police Inspector with Oshiwara police station, said. The police said Nair was without work for the past six months after he lost his job at a BPO in Malad. Since then, he had been borrowing from his parents, who stopped sending money a couple of months ago. A police officer said Nair had not cleared his credit card dues running into thousands of rupees. “He was not even able to pay the minimum amount,” the officer said, adding, “Nair has admitted that he masterminded the kidnapping.”

New angle emerges in Adnan murder case

Mumbai is in shock after the kidnapping and murder of 16 year old Adnan Patrawala allegedly by young men who befriended him through a social networking website.Three of the alleged killers are in custody and the Mumbai police is looking for two more suspects.Police sources had first said Adnan was kidnapped and murdered by three friends Sujit Nair, Ayush Bhat and Khimesh Ambavat, who he met on the social networking site Orkut about six months ago. However, others investigating the case now claim there is no Orkut connection and that Adnan became friends with the three at a gaming centre in the Mumbai suburb of Malad six months ago and the Orkut exchanges came later.Though, the Orkut angle hasn't been ruled out. The search is still on for a fourth suspect who was chatting to Adnan on Orkut under the name of Angel, most likely a fake ID.On Saturday evening when Adnan disappeared, he had received several messages from Angel suggesting they meet up. What the police are clear about is the sequence of events.Brainchild behind kidnappingPolice say the brainchild behind the kidnapping was the oldest of the group, 28-year old Sujit Nair, a former BPO employee who had been out of a job for nearly a year.Nair had planned to flee to Dubai on Monday after getting the ransom. But police claim that when the boys found out the news had been flashed across the media they got scared. Also they heard rumours that the investigations into the kidnapping may be handed over to the CBI. So on Sunday night they gave Adnan an alcoholic drink heavily laced with sleeping pills and strangled him inside his car.But the father of one of the accused 18-year old Ayush Bhat a college student says, his son has been framed. He says Ayush was home on Saturday when Adnan disappeared.''My son is cooperating with the police. The police had come to our residence on Sunday with two people called Adil and Aafreen and since then my son has been cooperating. I don't know why Ayush has been booked in the case,'' said Arun Bhat, father of the accused. The incident has once again put focus on the social networking sites and whether there is a need for greater safeguards on the Internet.

Net security: Adnan murder sparks debate

Mumbai teenager, Adnan Patrawala's shocking death sparked a debate among those addicted to the world of social networking websites. Orkut, the site where Adnan is said to have met his kidnappers, has already been in controversy for the darker side of net useage - porn, prostitution, soliciting and hate groups. At a Pune rave party many young software techies were caught in March. The police claim the rave networking was done through Orkut. But sites, Orkut, Facebbok and MySpace say they offer many options to filter out misuse. Like a report abuse option for online harassment - an option that few tend to use. ''I feel that Orkut filters are not that strong as it is just a social networking site and not a business site. Also people are not using the filters often enough,'' said Vijay Mukhi, Co-Chairman, E-Securities, NASSCOM.''It is very difficult to impose a ban as it is an international site governed by international regulations. People shoulld get more cautious about the use,'' Mukhi said. But there are ways of building in some checks. Sites like Facebook are stricter and less cluttered in comparison as a user can only browse through another user's profile once his friend request has been approved.''You know sometimes it becomes the fashion to add new friends. Like I have 900 friends and you say I have only 90 friends,'' said Saurav Ghosh, Net surfer.''It's the fashion to add new friends and you basically boast about it. But there is also a con to this, when you add new friends someone might have a fake thing, he might exploit you in some other way,'' Saurav said. But the fact is on all social networking sites taking on strangers aboard is the done thing. An online experiment conducted by security firm Sophos found over 40 per cent of Facebook users accept a ''friend request'' from a complete stranger.

16yrs old Adnan murdered, Is Orkut responsible?

A Mumbai teenager Adnan Patrawala, son of a businessman was trapped on Orkut and later he was murdered. Adnan’s Orkut profile says, I love mobiles, friends, my mother, fast driving, humorous, good looking, wanna become a pilot etc. Two or three weeks back he came in contact with Angel, a profile created by someone by utilizing the name of a girl. Scrapbooks of Adnan and Angel revealed that they were continuously talking to each other. According to scrapbooks, Angel was continuously insisting Adnan to meet her, but Adnan wanted Angel’s photograph first, which was never sent by her. In reply Angel said " Don’s worry? m quite & gud looking, u wanna meet me??? Lez mette up na! wot say?" Finally on Saturday Adnan replied that he wanted to meet her, which became the cause of his death.

Sixteen-year-old was kidnapped last Saturday and then he was allegedly strangulated by his friends. On Monday evening Adnan was found dead in Navi Mumbai. Death of Adnan Patrawala has greatly shocked his family members and shockwaves have spread across the city.

Adnan was allegedly trapped and subsequently murdered by his own friends. Adnan Patrawala left his home on Saturday night to have a good time with his friends. By 12.30 am he called up her mother that he was in pool club with his friends so he would come back home in the morning. On Sunday noon, Adnan’s parents got a call from his mobile itself and the person on the other side told them that they had abducted Adnan, he was fine and they wanted two crores as ransom. Even Adnan talked with his parents and told them that he was fine.

Earlier Adnan’s parents thought that it was a prank but after few hours next call came, this time the abductors said strongly that they were not joking and demanded Rs two crores. After getting the call, Adnan’s parents registered a case of abduction in the nearby police station; eventually the police started the investigation. On Monday the police arrested three of Adnan’s friends Sujith Nair (28 yrs), Ayush Bhat (19 yrs) and Himmesh Ambavat (18 yrs) who confessed that they murdered Adnan Patrawala.

Sujith Nair is an ex-employee of a BPO while Ayush Bhat and Himmesh Ambavat are college-going students and they came in contact with Adnan through Orkut. Eventually the confession of three boys led the police to his Skoda car and his body in Navi Mumbai. By 7 pm the Mumbai police disclosed that Adnan Patrawal has been murdered and TV News channels flashed the news of his death.

Police investigations revealed that Adnan was trapped on Orkut by making a false profile, Angel. When police accessed Orkut, they found that someone had tampered with Adnan’s profile and his picture album, videos and all scraps before 20th August have been deleted. What is more startling is that even after the news of Adnan’s murder, someone was operating his Orkut profile. As the news of his death was flashed by the channels, hundreds of complimentary messages started coming on Orkut like ‘God bless your soul’, ‘May Peace be upon you’ and so on.

However, now the family members of Adnan are saying that they have made a big mistake by informing the police about his abduction. According to them the police had disclosed the matter, which became the cause of Adnan’s death. Now the big question is who is Angel, what is his/ her identity? Messages on Adnan’s scrapbook clearly depicts that Angel’s profile could be a fake one. In fact, Adnan’s case is not a new issue, earlier also many youngsters have been trapped through Orkut in the name of friendship. Now again the question arises, who is responsible for Adnan’s death?
